Château Gigognan is one of the Southern Rhône's great historic estates, where more than eight centuries of winemaking heritage meet an uncompromising pursuit of quality. Set across 110 hectares of certified organic vineyards, including over 40 hectares in the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, the estate produces wines of exceptional purity, balance and longevity. Every vineyard parcel is farmed with meticulous care and vinified individually in a modern, environmentally designed winery, allowing each terroir to express its unique character. Whether crafting the celebrated Clos du Roi cuvées or their outstanding Côtes-du-Rhône wines, Château Gigognan consistently delivers wines of elegance, concentration and unmistakable Rhône identity, equally rewarding on release or after years of cellaring.
Tasting Note: Crafted from a carefully selected collection of old-vine Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, Bois des Moines 2020 is a beautifully layered expression of the Southern Rhône. The nose is rich and inviting, revealing aromas of ripe blackberry, blueberry and blackcurrant intertwined with liquorice, garrigue and sweet baking spices. The palate is generous and enveloping, combining concentrated dark fruit with silky tannins, subtle oak and a distinctive mineral freshness that reflects its galet-strewn terroir. Elegant yet powerful, the wine finishes long and harmonious, with impressive depth and the structure to reward further cellaring.
