Founded in 1986 by the late Russ Raney, Evesham Wood has long been recognised as one of Oregon's benchmark Pinot Noir producers. Nestled in the cool-climate Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the estate has built its reputation on organically farmed vineyards, low-intervention winemaking and an unwavering commitment to expressing site over technique. Since 2010, the winery has been led by acclaimed winemaker Erin Nuccio, who continues the estate's philosophy of producing elegant, terroir-driven wines inspired by the great domaines of Burgundy. Fermentations rely on native yeasts, oak is used with restraint, and each wine reflects the freshness, purity and distinctive volcanic soils that define Oregon's Willamette Valley.
Tasting Note: The 2022 Eola-Amity Hills Cuvée is a beautifully expressive Pinot Noir that captures the elegance and energy of Oregon's cool-climate vineyards. Fragrant aromas of wild strawberry, Bing cherry and raspberry are lifted by notes of rose petal, orange peel and subtle baking spice, with hints of forest floor adding complexity. The palate is silky and finely textured, revealing layers of red cherry, cranberry and pomegranate balanced by vibrant acidity and polished tannins. Gentle savoury notes of dried herbs, crushed stone and spice emerge on the long, mineral finish, creating a Pinot Noir of remarkable finesse, purity and balance. Delicious in its youth yet capable of rewarding careful cellaring over the next decade.
