Nestled on the banks of the Loire in Pouilly-sur-Loire, Domaine Tinel-Blondelet is a sixth-generation family estate led by Annick Tinel, whose passion for expressing the region's finest terroirs has earned the domaine widespread acclaim. Farming around 15 hectares across the prestigious appellations of Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre, the estate follows a sustainable, low-intervention approach, combining careful vineyard management with meticulous cellar work to preserve the purity of Sauvignon Blanc. Their wines have received recognition from leading critics and competitions, including Wine Enthusiast, Decanter World Wine Awards, Guide Hachette and the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, reflecting a consistent commitment to quality and authentic Loire winemaking.
Tasting Note: Produced from 45-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines rooted in Kimmeridgian marl soils, Arrêt-Buffatté takes its name from an historic vineyard bordering the ancient Roman road between Paris and Clermont-Ferrand.
The 2021 vintage opens with expressive aromas of white blossom, ripe citrus, white peach and crushed flint, underpinned by subtle herbal notes and a delicate smoky character that defines great Pouilly-Fumé. Extended maturation on the fine lees adds texture and complexity without sacrificing precision, resulting in a beautifully balanced palate of lemon zest, orchard fruit and wet stone, finishing long, saline and mineral with exceptional freshness. A superb partner for oysters, grilled scallops, lobster or creamy poultry dishes.
